To begin with, my name Rewati is pronounced ray-vuh-tee. It’s pretty neat once you find out I’m named after a quintuple star system located on the edge of the Pisces constellation.

Professionally & educationally speaking, I’m a mechanical engineer (!) who works in product design & development, and as much as I’d like to say that I bring the precision of my day job into the gastronomic side of my life, that would be a blatant lie; I love the freedom that the arbitrariness of home cooking can bring.

A few early years in India, the bulk of my childhood and teens in the UAE, Philadelphia for college, sunny southern California for work, and in 2021, that very winding road took yet another detour to the lush Pacific Northwest.

These days, while I call Vancouver home, I draw from the experiences of my urban nomadic life so far, to cook, pour, and shoot out of the apartment I share with my husband and our ragdoll/Siberian cat.
